Before you write: what this site can and cannot do
Tokyo Tourism Guide is a reference site, not an agency. It cannot book anything, and messages asking it to are the most common ones that go unanswered simply because there is nothing to be done with them. If you need a ticket or a room, go direct:
- Ghibli Museum tickets — sold only through Lawson Ticket, in monthly batches, for a fixed date and entry time. Nobody can get you in on the day.
- teamLab — teamlab.art for both the Azabudai Hills and Toyosu venues. Timed entry, and the popular slots go early.
- Trains and rail passes — JR East, Tokyo Metro or Toei, depending on whose line you are actually on.
- Sumo tickets — the Japan Sumo Association. Tokyo hosts three of the six annual tournaments and they sell fast.
- A visa or entry question that depends on your nationality — this has to go to a Japanese embassy or consulate. Nobody here can answer it for your passport.
What is worth sending
- Corrections. The most valuable messages this site receives. Tokyo venues change closing days, prices and even locations without much notice, and a reader standing in front of a locked door knows before the site does. Name the guide and, if you can, link the operator’s own page — that turns a fix from an investigation into a two-minute edit.
- Gaps. A question you could not get answered anywhere, about Tokyo specifically. These often become guides.
- Press, republishing and permissions. Requests to quote or reproduce material.
- Site problems. A broken page, an image that will not load, a link that goes nowhere.
What to expect
Messages are answered in the order they arrive, usually within a few business days. Corrections are checked against the operator’s own source before anything is changed, so a fix may land before a reply does. There is no telephone line and no public office — this is a small independent publication, and the form is the only route in.
